Would you Die for Jesus?
After reading about the “forced conversion” to Islam of Steve Centanni of Fox News, I wonder about the implications that could have on someone’s life. Of course, I can’t imagine what it must be like to be at gun-point being told to profess Allah as God.

Christ’s words immediately come to mind, “Save your life and lose it; lose your life and live.” I’d rather die than to lose eternal life with our Lord. If Steve Centanni later recanted his vow before his captors, it doesn’t change the fact he lied to save his life: two sins in one. “To sin again, after knowing it is a sin, there is no further atonement; just a fearful awaiting of judgment.”

I do disagree with you there because of 1Jo 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. However, if a professing Christian were to deny Christ to save his life (he could still repent: remember Peter denied the Lord 3 times and was restored) his testimony and effectivness to witness on earth would be possibly lost. If a person doesn’t believe in Christ, then denying Him wouldn’t mean a thing until he is judged after death.
